
The National Development Agency (NDA) met with Mr. Jeremy Berndt, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. at the U.S. Embassy in Libya, during his visit to the city of Sirte.
During the meeting, the NDA highlighted its key strategic projects across various sectors, within the framework of Libya 2030, which aims to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development. Emphasis was placed on development programs and infrastructure enhancement, in addition to major projects supervised within the Sirte Free Zone, positioning it as a promising platform for trade, transit, and investment attraction.
Agency officials stressed that these development efforts stem from the Libya 2030 vision, which receives direct support from the General Commander Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, and Deputy General Commander Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa, to advance development and strengthen economic stability in the country.
The two sides also discussed ways to enhance economic and trade cooperation between Libya and the United States, opening avenues for new investment partnerships and boosting trade opportunities in infrastructure, energy, and free trade sectors.
For his part, the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires expressed appreciation for the NDA’s efforts, emphasizing the United States’ interest in expanding cooperation and supporting economic development in Libya.
