The National Development Agency held discussions with a delegation from the global company FarmTech International to explore avenues of technical cooperation for the implementation of a strategic agricultural project. The project aims to link the Barjog, Tasawah, and Maknusah areas within a unified production system comprising approximately 1,000 center-pivot irrigation circles, each covering 50 hectares, with the project scheduled to enter service during the 2027–2028 agricultural season.

The meeting also addressed ways to leverage Farm Tech’s expertise in agricultural mechanization and center-pivot irrigation, in its capacity as an agent for leading international companies such as New Holland and Valley Valmont, contributing to increased agricultural production efficiency and strengthening sustainability and food security in desert regions.
