Within the framework of strengthening the bonds of cooperation between the components of society and the state, a high-level delegation of sheikhs and elders of the Ma’adan tribe visited the headquarters of the National Development Agency (NDA) today, to confirm their full support for the NDA’s development projects and emphasize “national cohesion and unity” as a basis for achieving stability and prosperity.
During the meeting, the delegation expressed the tribe’s firm commitment to supporting the armed forces and standing behind the “Revolution of Dignity” project led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, noting that the Maadan tribe is one of the historical social pillars supporting the nation’s security and sovereignty. The sheikhs reiterated that “the tribe is represented only by its sheikhs and wise men, who speak on behalf of its collective will.”
For his part, the NDA director praised the national role played by the Ma’adan tribe in consolidating social stability, appreciating its support for development projects implemented in various regions. “The support of social components is the cornerstone of the success of any development project,” he said, noting that the visit reflects the integration of official and social efforts to achieve the national vision.
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of basic services such as health, education and infrastructure, especially in areas where the tribe is part of the population. “Security and development support go hand in hand,” the Maadan sheikhs emphasized, expressing the tribe’s readiness to be active partners in every project that serves the public interest.
It is noteworthy that the Maadan tribe has a prominent place in the Libyan social scene, and is considered one of the tribes that are keen to strengthen the national identity and reject divisions, by adhering to the discourse of consensus and rejecting any attempts to exploit its name outside the framework represented by its traditional leaders.
