The City of Lights competition for memorizing the Holy Quran and learning public speaking skills (for males and females) kicked off on Wednesday afternoon at Granada Mosque, as part of the cultural and religious activities sponsored by General Saddam Khalifa and under the direct supervision of the Executive Management of the National Development Agency (NDA), under the patronage of Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa.

The opening ceremony was attended by a group of imams, preachers and governors of the Endowments Authority, in addition to a group of participating students, parents and interested parties, in a faithful atmosphere that spreads the spirit of values, develops energies, and enshrines the culture of giving in the fields of religion and science.

The competition will continue for six days during this week’s evenings, and Wednesday marked the start of the competition in the field of Quran and public speaking.
