

The National Development Agency (NDA) inaugurated today its most important strategic project, the Sirte Bay Airport Passenger Terminal in a great and happy celebration evening in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Osama Hammad and the Director General of the Development and Reconstruction Fund for Libya, Engineer Belkassem Haftar, where the Director General of the National Development Agency Dr. Mahmoud Al-Farjani was at the forefront of their reception at the airport, and Sirte witnessed this evening the opening ceremony of Sirte Bay International Airport, after completing its construction and development work and equipping it with the latest systems and equipment that match the international airports.
The opening ceremony was also attended by a number of members of the House of Representatives, the ministers of defense and transportation, the mayor of Sirte municipality, along with a number of military leaders and local officials, in a majestic festive atmosphere that included dazzling fireworks displays that lit up the city’s sky to celebrate this major national event.
The event witnessed the participation of national airlines: Mediterranean Sky Airlines, Al-Buraq, Barnek, Taj Airlines, and Libya Air Ambulance, marking the official launch of the airport’s operation within the domestic flight network.
The opening ceremony concluded with congratulations to the people of Sirte on this national achievement, which restores the city’s pivotal position as a bridge linking east, west and south, and a new gateway to development and investment in Libya.
Following the ceremony, the honored guests and a number of official attendees took a field tour inside the airport, during which they inspected the lounges, departments and operational facilities, and listened to comprehensive explanations from the airport management about its capacity and technical and service equipment, expressing their admiration for the achievement in record time that will have a great impact on the souls of Libyans who have long yearned for such pioneering national projects as part of Libya’s Vision 2030.
